How a Personal Chef Service Works?
After you contact me, I will want to visit with you about how I can make your life easier with my Personal Chef Service, and what foods you like and dislike. Possibly you want to revamp your whole approach to nutrition and food. I can help you do that. Maybe you simply want someone else to do the planning and cooking and take it totally "off your plate". We can talk and e-mail until we work something out, all free of charge. My service costs $40 per hour plus the cost of groceries, but this charge is for the time I spend at your house cooking. I do not charge mileage or for time spent menu-planning or shopping. Most clients choose one of the following schedules for my services:
Once A Week Schedule:
Many clients prefer a Personal Chef Service early in the week because the later part of the week is often full of restaurants and other social obligations.
Mondays and Tuesdays are busy times for a Personal Chef! Cooking once a week will usually mean you have 2 or 3 evening meals with side dishes in your refrigerator, and possibly some lunch/deli items to cover mid-day meals (pasta or orzo salads, tossed salads w/ fresh vinaigrette on the side, tuna or chicken salad, fruit salads, soups and chilis, or maybe you just want me to pick up some deli slices for your own sandwich building).
A typical Once A Week Menu might look like this:
Entree #1 w/ a side dish and a salad (Monday night)
Enree #2 w/ 2 side dishes and leftover salad (Tuesday night)
Two lunch items such as mentioned above.
This amount of food would typically take between 3 and 4 hours to prepare.
Twice A Week Schedule:
This option will cost a bit more, but it allows you to cover a whole week of food.
Together we decide on a week's worth of entrees and side dishes, then I come to your house twice a week (usually a Monday/Wednesday or a Tuesday/Thursday) and cook.
A typical Twice A Week Menu might look like this:
Entree #1 w/ a side dish and a salad (Monday night)
Enree #2 w/ 2 side dishes and leftover salad (Tuesday night)
Two lunch items such as mentioned above.
then, on the second day of the week:
Entree #3 and 2 side dishes (Wednesday)
Entree #4 and a side dish w/ a dessert (Thursday)
Either Entree #5 for the weekend or several lunch items or both, depending on how much you want to spend on the service or groceries.
This amount of food each day of cooking would typically take between 2.5 and 3 hours to prepare.
Every Other Week Schedule or Floating Schedule:
I work well last minute and "on call". This is a good choice for empty-nesters who may have occasional guests or just want to spend their time doing anything but cooking for part of the month.
A Floating Schedule can consist of anything you like, including different amounts and items each visit, taking into consideration your guests, your vacations, and of course, your cravings!
Maybe you want a fancy breakfast or brunch for your house guests around the holidays, or maybe you'd like the fridge filled with great and simple food for your arrival back home from a vacation. Perhaps you're letting relatives stay at your second home and want to make them feel welcome with a full pantry. I'd love to help!
